Annotation:Founded in 1665, the Philosophical Transactions were to appear on the first Monday of every month, though in practice they appeared irregularly. Although its subject was the work of the Royal Society, it was a private venture of its founding editor and publisher, Henry Oldenberg, until his death in 1677. Thereafter Robert Hooke published sporadically the Philosophical Collections, to fill the void until the Transactions resumed in 1682, co-edited by Francis Aston and Robert Plot. Subsequently, secretaries of the Society served also as its editor. Other Links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosophical_Transactions_of_the_Royal_Society - Wikipedia entry
